The story of Pesto Sea Group begins long before its official foundation.
In 1900, Oscar Pesto was born: he dedicated his life to the sea, becoming a ship captain. His son, Giuliano, followed the same path, sailing for years as a merchant ship captain before deciding, in the mid-1960s, to stay ashore with his family.
In 1966, after qualifying as a maritime agent, Giuliano founded in Genoa the city’s first agency specialized in yachting — a novelty that even made the headlines. The first office opened in the 1970s in the heart of Genoa, soon followed by a branch in Santa Margherita Ligure. At the time, the agency worked mainly with large sailing yachts and racing boats, before also embracing motor yachts.
From the very beginning, Pesto became a point of reference for the yachting community: exhibiting at the Genoa Boat Show, joining UCINA, and expanding its network through trusted agents across Italy. In 1992, the family played a central role in the creation of Marina Molo Vecchio, born during the Colombiadi celebrations, which cemented Genoa’s place as a Mediterranean yachting hub.
The 2000s marked a phase of diversification, with the launch of Femobunker (bunker trading worldwide), Molo Vecchio Marine Supply (yacht provisioning), and later Pesto’s Place (crew accommodation). Each new step was guided by the same vision: putting clients and crew at the center with tailored, professional service.
As Fabio and Massimiliano Pesto joined the company, the Group continued to grow with new offices in Portofino, Imperia, La Spezia, Venice, Naples, and Rome, shaping a nationwide presence. In 2023, the family legacy took on an international dimension with the creation of Genoa Superyacht Hub and the opening of the first directly managed office abroad, in South Africa.
Today, Pesto Sea Group combines over half a century of expertise with a spirit of innovation, standing as a trusted partner for the global superyacht community.
